The Orbit face

What is the Orbit face?

Orbit is a stripped-back analog dial that keeps only the four cardinal numerals — 12, 3, 6 and 9 — and throws away the other eight. What is left is enough to read an angle from, and the empty quadrants give the hands room to be the loudest thing on the screen. Because so little is drawn, it is the face that changes most with the theme picker.

What is the Dots movement?

Dots replaces the travelling second hand with a marker that pulses out and back at each second on a spring, so the face keeps time by breathing rather than by sweeping. Orbit is the only face in ART'EDGE that offers it.

Quartz and Mechanical are both available here too if you would rather have a conventional second hand: Quartz steps once a second, Mechanical sweeps at ten steps a second.
